I crafted this universe long ago, as I needed a place where I could escape but also where I could build something to occupy my mind.

I twisted together the strands of matter and mathematics into the mesh which became the solid ground. I blended the colours which became the sky and I set them spinning overhead, to remind me of my original home. I stoked the heat of the deep places that they might melt and create the resources and the soft barrier of the infinite space below us.

As the world at the centre of the universe began to take shape, I was finally able to step into it. I entered from the place outside, and here I began crafting my domain.

Where I entered this world, I raised the stone and dirt from the ground that my place may see all the world from its vantage point. I cut the stones and built the walls of my castle. I used the magics of the void beyond the universe to fashion these first mana stones. I set them in the gates of the crossroad at the centre of the castle so I could always easily find my way to the corners of my empire. Finally, knowing these things could not last on their own, I again called upon the magics of the void to bind the gates and the castle walls with wards which would protect them for degradation and damage.

Then, I stepped away to let this world spin on its axis for a time.
