Problem with the speakers
The problem seems to have something to do with the speaker internals. I think it is related to heat, as it doesn't happen immediately if I haven't had the speakers on for a while, but I can't be sure. I could try running them through my UPS, in case there is a building wiring problem, but that would be a new problem, likely with more obvious problems. I am hesitant to do that, as the UPS might not like the power these draw on start.

I know it isn't anything software or computer hardware related since it even happens when the speakers aren't attached to anything and are just left on, reading the analog input.

I will almost definitely need to replace them since I am not really sure how to progress. The last idea I could try, although I am not sure what it would tell me and might be somewhat dangerous, is to turn them on while partially dismantled so I can see if anything looks/sounds wrong and maybe even touch components to see if they are heating up.

Even if I found the problem, though, the parts may be hard to get and I don't have a soldering iron, nor the knowledge of how to solder replacement electronics like this (my Dad has repaired things like this, but only when the problem was visible, like "puffy" capacitors).

The problem is trying to figure out how to dispose of these since they are largish. I kind of want to post something in the building saying someone can have them for free if they want the parts or to try to fix them. I could then get something a little smaller (since I never properly installed these, as is - they are a full surround system).
