I vaguely recall that song but didn't much care for it. While I liked Silverchair's first album, I think I was starting to lose interest in that part of the new rock genre by the time that second one came out and I found that his writing wasn't as interesting to me as it was to him.
One of the things I am finding tiring is watching too many people generally blame previous generations for whatever they currently don't like or don't understand, when it doesn't seem like they really have any basis for that. It seems as though that problem is worsening, too, since I don't remember blaming older generations, when I was a teenager, just remember thinking they "didn't get it". That also turned out to be a bogus way to look at the world but I think some amount of that might be required in order for a teenager to more completely explore their own identity.
Good to hear that you are finding ways to get more involved with what interests you!
