Sitting at the "kids'" table for one night
My nephew's birthday was alright. He turned 26. His godparents (his mother's brother and brother's wife) were also invited with his cousins and a cousin's boyfriend, we didn't eat until like 7:10 but the food was good. I ended up sitting at the "kids" table, the youngest kid being my niece who is 21. They were all talking about how screwed they are in this economy but how housing and rent will decrease. How it would be awesome if Trump died, how presidents should be like 45 but most of them are boomers, healthcare in the US vs healthcare in Canada, my niece Samantha and her cousin Emily are nurses. Emily's boyfriend was saying how everyone should move to Costa Rica because of immigration. I got the memo that he doesn't like minorities. Not sure what to think of that.

As smart as they are (my niece works in Complex care at Sick Kids which sees a lot of kids with birth defects) they were talking about rat children from Pakistan, my niece's boyfriend said there is a sect of them (he's a history major) but I looked them up and there are apparently only two left since 2009 (first found in 1839) as part of the sect in Pakistan. I didn't say anything though. Rat children are those with birth defects like microcephaly (small head) that are usually mentally affected. I remember as a kid I met a girl here in Canada with a small head and it scared the hell out of me, anyway I wasn't really liking this conversation. I also realized my niece doesn't know the difference between Arab and Indian and just lumps them all together and calls them "brown" which is alarming and something I never do/did. Also, I'm glad other nephews and nieces weren't there. Julianna and Michael's other grandparents were first cousins (sadly) so that means their mom is a product of first cousins. my niece's boyfriend and her cousin's boyfriend were saying if your parents are first cousins you end up being deformed for sure, NO QUESTION. My sister-in-law is not deformed. Her cousin's boyfriend said straight out he won't even go to Tim Hortons or McDonalds because of the foreign workers but Emily is a vegetarian so I can't see them going often. I'm not sure I like these boyfriends they sound like really bad influences but both Samantha and Emily have been with them for YEARS.

Since I'm moving this will be the last birthday party dinner I am obligated to attend.

Steven and Christina should invite Jason one night, lol, I never see him anymore but as the xennials of the lot we'd set them all straight. I can't do this alone, need someone to back me. Even my oldest niece Vanessa (she's 34) thinks Jason is related to us because he is related to my youngest nephew and nieces, she has believed this her entire life and no matter what I say she says "my cousin". argh. This confusion for sure is one of the reasons J and I never really went anywhere romantically and had to hide when we tried.

I just found out adolescence goes into your 30s so... I dunno.
