Yesterday, I did a writing workshop for memoir on zoom where we are to use a fairytale story to help us along.

Normally, I would choose something like Cinderella but I realized that's too pedestrian, when Janelle (the facilitator) chose it herself.

I zoned out half way through thinking of stories I could use and came up with "The Bride of Frankenstein" then I found out about the above movie "The Bride!" by Maggie Gyllenhaal coming out soon. I can't wait.

I'm currently reading an ebook memoir suggested in the workshop called The Night Parade. The writer is seriously skilled and is keeping me interested, although the book itself doesn't make much sense (to me) yet. It is an amalgamation of Japanese folklore that the writer uses to describe her times of mental illness. I wish I had some kind of background similar to that to come at my illnesses with, some fantasy angle to write with. I guess the movie could be my in -- once I watch it.
