Went to Dundas to help my Dad with some yard work and light landscaping, yesterday. It was a long day of physical labour but we got a lot done. In the picture, we were cleaning, moving, and re-levelling those path stones while also working out a bridge for run-off from the lower pond.
My lower back was definitely feeling rough after that, though. For whatever reason, my lower back is always sensitive to discomfort and it is sometimes a cause for poor sleep (it is rarely exactly "pain" but what I would call "extreme discomfort"). It is probably the main reason why I spend most of the day standing as my poor posture leads to lower back strain.
Felt pretty sore and tired after getting home so didn't get anything done. Today is largely the same as my back feels fine but all the muscles in my upper body feel a little sore and my hands are still feeling bruised.
I think that this all comes down to how rarely I get this kind of exercise combined with my advancing age. Either way, it was nice to get out to see him and also do some engaging physical labour.
Today, back on some October Project AI improvement work but that code is so ugly and tedious. I keep thinking that there should be a better way to do this to avoid the sea of special-cases in the geometry so I feel like a moron for not figuring that out, yet. Maybe it just is this kind of problem.
