Given that our culture has somehow changed to something very kid-friendly (you know, for adults, for some reason), where all media has to be some kind of propaganda (it needs to be what you are told to be and re-affirm the ideas you are being told to have), I do find that people or ideas which buck that trend stick in my mind. Back then, this is what punks and related sub-cultures were for but the punks (or at least the goths) seem to be the secret police of this new regime... somehow.

Feeling like I am not welcome or that I need to be constantly walking on eggshells around the overgrown infants around me is exhausting in an existential sense. This is why I am relieved by the feeling of calm belonging which comes from seeing others indulge in vice, prohibited speech/acts, and generally just being easy-going and non-judgmental. I may not be into what they are doing or like what they say, but the chaos and feeling that rules are powerless here calms me to a great degree.

Maybe it is for that reason that I find it perfectly hilarious that a new comedy anime called "Chainsmoker Cat" (trailer linked in context) seems to be drawing some attention. The intro music is pretty fun, too, and I have seen some break-downs of all the cinematic references in the opening, which is a pretty neat approach.
