The work to get natural diagonal movement working in OctoberProject was relatively straight-forward (the underlying mechanism always supported this so it was just creating a new entry-point). However, since this requires a new version of the underlying server/library, I want to run it through some other paces, first.
This means holding that code in a kind of limbo while I figure out how to test solutions to some other problems I have observed, related to lighting in the previous release. I don't typically like creating paths or adding information which only exist to facilitate testing so I am needing to capture and view the raw vertex data.
While I don't like having all of these balls in the air, it should give me an opportunity to make any last minute adjustments to the server/library if I see any small issues, while testing these other changes.
Otherwise, this is probably the last part of OctoberPeaks which "feels wrong" whereas other issues are just missing content.
